Old Woman, Old Woman is a piano trio for three performers at one piano and is based on a traditional folk melody arranged by Carrie Kraft.

After a grand intro the first statement of the theme is featured by player 1. Upon completion of the first statement, the intro returns and sets up a modulation from C to F. Some creative arranging occurs during the second statement as the theme is divided in segments of alternating 3/4 and 4/4 meter in which the theme is spread out amongst all performers. The final thematic statement returns to player 1 back in C. Each key change is proceeded with a ritardando requiring performers to think and react together. A coda, which is just as grand as the intro, brings the trio to a rousing conclusion.
